On Sunday, the Karachi World Book Fair 2025 saw a record-breaking increase in sales. Over 500,000 visitors flooded the Karachi Expo Centre during the first four days. With 329 stalls featuring participants from 17 countries, the event has become Pakistan’s premier literary gathering for students, teachers, and families.

Parking spaces inside the expo were full, many visitors had to park on nearby roads. This caused massive traffic jams around the Expo Centre. Inside, the halls were packed with book lovers browsing a massive collection of religious, scientific, and literary works.
Publishers from Türkiye, Egypt, Malaysia, and the UAE joined local sellers to showcase their titles. The energy remained high from 10:00 am until 9:00 pm. Despite the heat and the crowds, enthusiasts continued to hunt for their favorite authors across all three halls.

MQM leader Dr. Farooq Sattar visited the fair on Sunday. He urged young people to reconnect with physical books. He suggested that the youth should carry a book even when visiting cafes. Sattar jokingly remarked that while young men look for successful partners, they are more likely to find educated and capable companions through the world of reading.
Pakistan Publishers and Booksellers Association Chairman Kamran Noorani praised the team for the smooth organization. The fair remains a vital bridge between international publishers and the Pakistani public.
