Government Schools in Lahore Gear Up for 2024 Admissions Drive – Action Against Non-Compliant Principals
Lahore’s Education Department has announced the commencement of the 2024 admissions drive in government schools starting from March 15, as reported by 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday. School principals failing to meet admission targets will face consequences this year.
As part of the initiative, all schools are assigned a ten percent increase in enrollments, aiming to admit an additional 280,000 children in Lahore. Currently, the government schools in the city cater to over 0.6 million students.
Schools are mandated to achieve their admission targets by October 31, 2024, with the new academic year scheduled to kick off on April 1. The Education Department emphasizes the importance of boosting student enrollments to enhance educational accessibility and quality.
Parents and guardians are encouraged to participate actively in the admission process, ensuring that eligible children benefit from the educational opportunities provided by government schools. The initiative aligns with the ongoing efforts to strengthen the education system and broaden access to quality education in Lahore.
