The Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) for admissions to public and private medical colleges across Punjab will held on Sunday, September 22, 2024. This highly anticipated exam, conducted under the supervision of the University of Health Sciences (UHS), will take place at 26 examination centers in 12 cities across the province.
MDCAT 2024 Test Venues and Preparations
A total of 58,380 candidates registered for MDCAT 2024, with 40,364 female and 18,016 male candidates expected to sit for the exam. In Lahore, eight examination centers have set up, including:
- Punjab University Examination Halls, Wahdat Road (3,779 female candidates)
- COMSATS University
- DPS Model Town
- University of Education, Township
- Government Girls Graduate College, Gulberg
- Lahore College for Women University
- DPS Township
- Government Islamia College for Women, Cantt
The largest exam center in Lahore is located at the Punjab University Examination Halls. Strict security measures have implemented across all venues, especially at UHS, to ensure a smooth process on the test day.
Security and Monitoring Arrangements
Over 4,000 teachers will be on duty as invigilators throughout Punjab, with 1,000 invigilators deployed in Lahore alone. The invigilation team has appointed by the Higher Education and School Education Departments, while senior faculty from UHS and officers from the Specialized Healthcare Department will monitor test arrangements.
In addition, deputy commissioners from the 12 districts have crafted comprehensive plans to manage the test day, including oversight of security, traffic, and parking arrangements. District Police Officers (DPOs) and City Police Officers (CPOs) will play a key role in managing the flow of students and ensuring the safety of all those involved.
Important Test Day Information for Candidates
Candidates are required to report to their examination centers by 8:00 AM, as no one will be allowed entry after 9:00 AM. The test will begin promptly at 10:00 AM and will conclude by 1:30 PM. The exam consists of 200 multiple-choice questions (MCQs), and candidates must score at least 55% to qualify for MBBS programs and 50% for BDS programs.
MDCAT 2024 Competition
Candidates will be competing for a total of 3,616 seats in public medical colleges and 5,025 seats in private institutions. UHS will oversee the centralized admissions for both public and private medical and dental colleges across Punjab.
