Pakistan Schools New Academic Year to Start from April 1st 2024, Revised Schedule & Key Updates

In a recent announcement, the Pakistani education authorities have unveiled a comprehensive schedule for the upcoming academic year, bringing several noteworthy changes and initiatives. According to the information the new academic year to start from 1st April 2024.

New Academic Year Dates:

The academic year set to kick off on April 1st 2024 and will conclude on February 28, 2025, offering a structured timeline for students and educators.

Government School Exams:

Annual exams for classes 1 to 8 in government schools will commence on March 7th, concluding by March 20th. The eagerly awaited results slate to announced on March 31st.

Matric and Intermediate Board Exams:

Metriculation board exams scheduled to begin on March 1st, while intermediate exams for FA and FSC will take place from May 5th, adding a systematic approach to examination schedules.

Admissions in Two Phases:

Government schools will conduct admissions in two phases – the first phase from March 1st to May 31st and the second phase from August 15th to October 31st. This strategic approach aims to streamline the admission process.

Summer Break:

Scheduled from June 2nd to August, the summer vacation period provides students and teachers with a well-deserved break before diving into the new academic year.

Admission Targets:

With a goal of 10% new admissions based on current enrollment data, approximately 1 crore 19 lakh students expected to enroll in over 48 thousand schools.

Focus on Out-of-School Children:

The initiative targets the admission of 12 to 13 lakh new students, addressing the significant challenge of 1 crore 30 lakh out-of-school children in Punjab.

Free Textbook Distribution:

Starting April 15th, the Education Department will distribute free textbooks to students in government schools, easing the financial burden on families.

These developments signify a proactive approach towards enhancing the education system in Pakistan, ensuring a more organized and accessible learning environment for students across the country.
