The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has expanded arrangements for the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) 2025 by adding new MDCAT 2025 test centres in Jacobabad and Islamabad. The decision was announced to facilitate candidates from Sindh and Balochistan facing travel and accessibility issues.
MDCAT 2025 Exam Schedule and Format
The MDCAT 2025 will be conducted on Sunday, October 5, 2025 at 10:00 AM PST, in Pakistan and some global centres. PMDC ensured that the test is paper based whereby, 180 multiple-choice questions will be answered in three hours. Topics are Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English and Logical Reasoning. No negative marking will be given.
MDCAT 2025 Syllabus
MDCAT 2025 syllabus was published June 10, 2025, with changes mostly in Biology. The paper-breakup is as follows: Biology (45), Chemistry (25), Physics (20), English (10), and Logical Reasoning (5).
New MDCAT 2025 Test Centres
Following complaints of long travel and logistical limitations, PMDC launched two new MDCAT 2025 test centres:
- Jacobabad (Sindh): Set up to help students in the upper Sindh who had to travel 9+ hours to reach Karachi or Hyderabad. Sukkur IBA University will be in charge of the centre.
- Islamabad (for Sindh and Balochistan candidates): Created to accommodate students from Sindh and Balochistan who are living in Islamabad. This centre has been set up through collaboration between Sukkur IBA University, Bolan University of Medical and Health Sciences (BUMHS) Quetta, and Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University (SZABMU) Islamabad.
PMDC clarified that these new options are available for candidates through the official portal. Updates to existing selections are possible until September 1, 2025, under late registration.

- Punjab: Conducted by UHS Lahore – major cities including Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Bahawalpur, Sialkot.
- Sindh: Conducted by Sukkur IBA University – Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Larkana, Mirpurkhas, Shaheed Benazirabad, Jacobabad, and Islamabad (new option).
- Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Conducted by KMU Peshawar – Peshawar, Abbottabad, Swat, Bannu.
- Balochistan: Conducted by BUMHS Quetta – Quetta and Islamabad (new option).
- Federal, AJK, GB: Conducted by SZABMU Islamabad – Islamabad, Muzaffarabad, Mirpur, Rawalakot, Gilgit.
- International: Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) centre for overseas Pakistanis.
PMDC Registration and Fees
- Regular registration closed on August 25, 2025.
- Late registration is open until September 1, 2025.
- Fee: PKR 9,000 (local centres), PKR 45,000 (international). Late fee: PKR 13,000/PKR 55,000.
- Over 100,000 candidates have registered for MDCAT 2025 so far.
Key Guidelines for MDCAT 2025 Candidates
- Bring admit card, CNIC/B-Form, and photographs on exam day.
- Arrive three hours early; electronic devices are prohibited.
- Results will be announced within one to two weeks after the exam.
PMDC confirmed a 12.5% adjustment in MDCAT 2025 fees due to rising costs of logistics and exam security. The council rejected social media claims of an 80% fee hike.
