Punjab Announces New College Timings and Extended Summer Holidays Amid Heat Wave Alert

In response to the severe heat wave alert, the Punjab government has announced new college timings and extended summer holidays to protect students from the blistering heat.

Punjab New College Timings:

• Monday to Thursday and Saturday: 07:30 am to 11:30 am
• Friday: 07:30 am to 11:00 am
• Monday to Saturday (evening second shift): 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm

Extended Summer Holidays:

• All public and private schools will remain closed from May 25 to May 31, except for institutions conducting exams.
• Private institutions conducting examinations will be allowed to remain open conditionally, prioritizing student safety against the severe weather.

Punjab Summer Holidays 2024:

• Summer vacations for schools will be observed from June 1 to August 14.

The Punjab Education Minister, Rana Sikandar, announced these measures to ensure the safety and well-being of students amid the severe heat wave. The government has taken proactive steps to reduce school timings and announce early holidays to protect students from the extreme weather conditions.
