In a groundbreaking move aimed at enhancing efficiency and alleviating the academic burden on students, the Chairman of the Punjab Board Committee has declared a significant transformation in the examination structure for ninth and tenth-grade students.
Traditionally, students in these grades had separate papers for Islamic Studies and Pakistan Studies. However, the revised system will consolidate these subjects into a single 100-mark paper for Islamic Studies in the ninth grade and a separate 100-mark paper for Pakistan Studies in the tenth grade.
Scheduled for implementation from the academic year 2025 for ninth graders, the BISE controller of examinations has informed the PCTB about this change. Consequently, textbooks for Islamiat and Pakistan Studies will revised to align with the new examination format.
This strategic shift aims to simplify the examination process, providing students with a more conducive learning environment. The reduction in the number of papers anticipated to ease the burden on students. The reaction from students and educators remains to observed.
Ditching the old 2-part, 50-mark setup, SSC Islamiat and Pakistan Studies go solo! From 2025 (Islamiat) and 2026 (Pakistan Studies), each subject gets its separate 100-mark paper in ninth and tenth grades respectively.
Under the directive of the Punjab government, the subject of Tarjmatul Quranul Majeed has incorporated into the scheme of studies. Students will now attempt nine subjects in a single part.
The PBCC streamlined SSC exams by proposing separate 100-mark papers for Islamiat and Pakistan Studies in each part. This, starting with Islamiat in 2025 and Pakistan Studies in 2026, cuts the total papers from nine to eight for students.
