Punjab Government Announces Recruitment of 30,000 Teachers to Address Shortage in Public Schools
In a major step to improve the education sector, the Government of Punjab has announced the recruitment of 30,000 teachers for public schools across the province. Provincial Education Minister Sikandar Hayat revealed this plan, aiming to fill the teacher shortage during the summer vacations.
Phased Recruitment Process
Minister Sikandar Hayat explained that the recruitment will be conducted in phases, ensuring that the specific needs of each school are met. “We are committed to addressing the needs of our schools by recruiting between twenty to thirty thousand teachers. Our goal is to complete this recruitment process during the summer holidays,” he stated.

This initiative comes as a response to the growing demand for qualified teachers in Punjab’s public schools. By hiring a significant number of teachers, the government aims to enhance the quality of education and ensure that all students receive proper attention and guidance.
Summer Vacations Announced for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
In related news, the Higher Education Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has announced summer vacations for all colleges and universities in the province. According to the official notification, educational institutions in the plain areas will observe vacations from June 15 to August 31. For the upper cold districts, the vacations will be from July 1 to July 31.
This synchronized break allows both teachers and students to recharge and prepare for the upcoming academic year. The provincial governments’ efforts reflect their commitment to improving educational standards and ensuring a well-balanced academic calendar.
