Revised Schools Timing and Dress Code Implemented in Punjab for Special Education Students Amid Winter Conditions
In response to the current cold weather conditions, the Department of Special Education in Punjab has announced a modification in school hours for special children across the province. The adjusted schedule will be effective from January 10 to the end of February.
Under the revised timetable, schools will now commence at 9 AM and conclude at 2 PM from Monday to Saturday, with Fridays having an early dismissal at noon.
In an effort to mitigate the impact of the cold weather and address financial concerns, the Department of Special Education has relaxed the dress code for students. Special education students are now permitted to wear sweaters and jackets of their choice in addition to their regular uniforms.
This change comes in the wake of the provincial government’s decision to extend the winter break, initially slated to end on January 1. All public and private educational institutions in Punjab will remain closed until January 9 due to the prevailing cold weather conditions.
Simultaneously, the Education Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has also extended the winter break until January 7. However, the Private Education Network (PEN) has expressed disagreement with this decision and has urged concerned officials to reconsider.
These adjustments aim to ensure the well-being and comfort of special education students during the challenging winter season in Punjab. The Department of Special Education emphasizes the importance of these measures in providing a conducive learning environment for students with special needs.
