Oxford Pakistan Programme
The Bhutto Scholarship Program was officially launched with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), attended by Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. The program aims to provide opportunities to students from Sindh who possess exceptional academic abilities but lack financial resources.
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah emphasized that the Oxford University scholarship will be granted to six students, including three male and three female scholars. This initiative reflects the Sindh government’s commitment to empowering the youth through education.
Earlier, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari delivered a lecture at Oxford University, where he highlighted the importance of democracy and education. He mentioned that his mother, Benazir Bhutto, never taught him to seek revenge, which is why he believes that democracy is the best revenge.
Bilawal Bhutto also spoke about women’s empowerment, emphasizing that despite societal restrictions, Benazir Bhutto became the Prime Minister of Pakistan, paving the way for women to play leading roles in the country. He further acknowledged that today, Punjab’s Chief Minister is also a woman, signifying progress in gender equality.
The Oxford University scholarship by the Sindh government is a remarkable initiative that will uplift underprivileged students and provide them with international exposure. This move aligns with the government’s vision to foster education and empower the youth for a brighter future.
