In a shocking revelation, the annual matriculation examinations across various education boards in Sindh have been marred by rampant cheating. Despite efforts by the administration, the cheating mafia seems to have gained an upper hand, leading to a series of question paper leaks.
The Biology paper for class 9 from the Karachi Education Board was reportedly available to students half an hour before the exam commenced. This incident follows the leak of the Computer Studies paper just a day prior, raising serious questions about the integrity of the examination process.
The cheating mafia’s influence appears to be far-reaching, with solved papers circulated in WhatsApp groups. This has allowed the malpractice to continue unabated, undermining the efforts of the education boards to conduct fair exams.
The Larkana Education Board, in particular, has been unable to prevent the leaks. The final Mathematics paper for class 9th also leaked via a WhatsApp group, indicating a complete failure of the board’s anti-cheating measures from the first day of exams to the last.
Adding to the list of leaked papers, the Pakistan Studies paper for the 10th class prematurely released in a WhatsApp group in Khairpur. This incident further highlights the extent of the cheating mafia’s network and its impact on the examination process.
Despite the formation of special teams by the Sukkur Board to prevent such malpractices, the efforts have proven futile. The persistent failure to curb cheating in these crucial exams raises concerns about the future of education in the region.
