Bailable and nonbailable arrest warrants issued by Lahore high court for Iffat Omar, Ali Gul Pir in account of Ali Zafar defamation case
Lahore court has issued warrants for actress, host Iffat Omar and singer Ali Gul pir in Ali Zafar defamation case. Ali Zafar pleaded guilty to allegations of sexual harassment against Mesha Shafi and the group.
Judicial Magistrate Yousuf Abdul Rehman rejected Iffat Omar’s plea and issued bailable arrest warrant over the exemption from appearance in court.
Earlier Iffat Omar, Leena Ghani, Fareeha Ayub, Haseem Zaman, and Faizan Raza pleas to seek exemption from appearance as they are living and working in Karachi as permanent residents.
Magistrate Rehman dismissed the grounds taken by the accused and rejected their pleas for exemption. However he issued arrest warrants for Iffat and Ali Gul Pir.
Along with it court has summoned Meesha Shafi and Maham Javed for the next hearing.
