Lahore: Ali Zafar sent Rs. 100 Million legal notice to Meesha Shafi. He is seeking an apology and according to the defamation ordinance, the failure to do so will result in Rs. 100 Million compensation from Meesha Shafi.
In a letter, Ali elaborated that Meesha put false allegations of sexual harassment on him. He further added that these allegations are damaging his reputation. The filed defamation suit will enforce Meesha to delete her tweet and show her apology to Ali on electronic media within 14 days of the notice being served. Ali Zafar’s lawyers said that the legal notice is drafted while Ahmad Pansota, Meesha’s lawyer said that we did not receive a legal notice yet.
On 19 April 2018, Meesha Shafi accussed Ali Zafar for the sexual harassment. In her tweet, she said that Ali harassed her on multiple occasions and now it is impossible for her to remain quiet.
However, after few hours, Ali Zafar clarified his position on social media. He said that allegations are false as he respects women and the #MeToo campaign.
However, the matter got intense when some other women also put same allegations on Ali Zafar. The matter is still hot and people are looking for the final settlement of this issue.
