Ashton Kutcher Salvaged Over 6,000 children from Human Trafficking
Ashton Kutcher, who is a well-known actor known for his roles in The 70’s show and Two and a Half Men. However, less people know about the fact that he is also a respected investor and an entrepreneur. He has been a part of start-ups such as Airbnb, Uber, and Spotify.
That’s not all, all of his financial investments is used for his other goals like social activism and humanitarian too. He is a prominent figure who works behind the curtains against human trafficking. Ashton Kutcher alsoappeared on The Today Show to promote his Netflix series The Ranch in 2016. The conversation led to the topic of his personal organization Thorn: The defenders of children, which he started with his ex-wife Demi Moore in 2008.
According to sources and reports of Thorn in 2015, 75% of the children were sold online for sex trafficking, “Basically, the purchase and commence for human trafficking is happening online just like everything else now and so we’re building digital tools to fight back against it,” Ashton explained.
In just one year, Ashton Kutcher and the employees of his company have worked together to identify, and recover 6,000 sex trafficking victims as well as managing to identify over 2,000 traffickers.
