Delhi Police arrested two shooters from the Goldy Brar gang during an armed encounter. The suspects, identified as Rahul and Sahil, were reportedly sent to Delhi to kill Indian stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui, winner of the reality show Bigg Boss.
Police sources confirmed that the shooters were acting on instructions from overseas gangster Rohit Godara. Godara, along with Goldy Brar and Virender Charan, was reportedly planning the attack on Munawar Faruqui.
Investigations revealed that the suspects conducted surveillance in Mumbai and Bengaluru to track the movements of Munawar Faruqui before arriving in Delhi.
During this morning’s encounter, Rahul sustained a gunshot wound and was shifted to hospital. Police said investigations are also ongoing in a December 2024 triple murder case in Haryana linked to Rahul.
Delhi Police officers further stated that additional raids are being conducted to apprehend the rest of the gang members before any damage is caused to guarantee the security of Munawar Faruqui and public.
Munawar Faruqui has a follower count of more than 14.2 million on Instagram and his popularity rose to greater heights after he won the Bigg Boss, which made him a high-profile target.
