Lahore: Session Court asked Meesha Shafi to reply to the defamation case filed by Ali Zafar against her.
The court ordered Meesha Shafi to submit the reply of legal notice as soon as possible. Earlier, the court also asked her to give reply till Thursday (today). However, the court gave her time till 13 August to provide her reply in the defamation case.
Additional Sessions Judge Shehzad Ahmed ordered that the court’s notice seeking Meesha’s reply should be pasted on her residence’s gate.
On 25 June Hearing, the session court asked Meesha Shafi to submit her reply till July 5. In June, Ali zafar sent a defamation suit to the district court against her. The suit was filed under the Defamation Ordinance 2002 and claimed damages of Rs 1 billion.
In April, Meesha accused Ali Zafar of sexual harassment. However, Ali denied all such allegations and said that he will take the matter to the court. However, the #MeToo trend became much popular after the incident.
