FIR Filed Against Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone in Fraud Case

A fraud case has been registered in Bharatpur, Rajasthan, against Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and Hyundai officials. The FIR was lodged on the orders of the court following a complaint by Kirti Singh, a 50-year-old lawyer. Singh alleged that the Hyundai Alcazar SUV he purchased in June 2022 for ₹23.97 lakh had major technical faults.

According to the complaint, the SUV showed repeated engine problems including vibration, sudden RPM rise without speed increase, and engine management malfunction messages. Singh stated that the dealership acknowledged the defect as a manufacturing issue and advised him to run the car at 2000 RPM for one hour whenever the problem occurred.

Hyundai Motor India officials and dealership representatives are also named by the FIR that is registered under Sections 420, 406, and 120B. Singh alleged that the company had hidden the defect, denied replacement and refund and led to financial loss. He further alleged that Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone who serve as brand ambassadors of Hyundai deceived consumers through advertisement and ought to be blamed.

The complaint mentioned their participation in SUV campaigns, as well as, Hyundai promotions. The case is based on the previous decision made by the Supreme Court that social media influencers and celebrities could be responsible to promote false ads.

The investigation against the representatives of Hyundai, dealership staff, Shah Rukh Khan, and Deepika Padukone started. The records will be made and the facts surrounding the complaint with the Hyundai car will be investigated.
