Recently there was a fake news report that passed through social media that Rowan Atkinson, the man behind the famous ‘Mr Bean’ was confined to bed and in bad health. There was a viral photo of a sickly Atkinson in 2024 to his youthful self in the 1990s. But our research showed that the image was fake and the man was a British man named Barry Balderstone who died in 2020 due to neglect in the healthcare system.
The picture was also edited in a way that made it look like Mr. Bean and this caused unneeded concern among fans. So, you can calm down, Rowan Atkinson is alive and well, he was seen at a Formula One Grand Prix recently. His health decline reports were greatly exaggerated and based on confusion between two people.
This case shows that the internet is a source of fake news. Fortunately, the audience has not grown tired of Mr. Bean’s foolishness and the man himself is well and alive.
