Ishrat Fatima, the iconic voice of Pakistani news for over four decades, officially joins Pakistan Television (PTV) as a mentor. Federal Minister Attaullah Tarar announced her return to train the next generation of broadcasters.
A New Chapter for Ishrat Fatima at PTV
Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar recently visited the residence of Ishrat Fatima in Islamabad. During this meeting, he confirmed that the veteran news presenter is rejoining Pakistan Television in a specialized role. After her long career at Radio Pakistan, she will now serve as an expert and mentor for young talent.
The Minister stressed the fact that Ishrat Fatima is a person who comes to the table with invaluable experience. He said that she has a 45-year career in which she is a household name in Pakistan. Through inviting Ishrat Fatima to the PTV shows as a coach, the government is hoping to refine talents of new entrants in the broadcasting industry.
The core objective of this appointment is institutional building. Tarar mentioned that he personally requested her to join PTV initiatives to help students and new anchors master the art of news reading. He highlighted her professional integrity and her ability to remain neutral throughout her extensive career.
Ishrat Fatima expressed her gratitude for the new responsibility. She stated that news reading remains her passion and she is eager to give back to the institution. She believes that encouraging capable individuals is essential for the growth of every professional field in Pakistan.
The presence of high-ranking officials like Federal Secretary Ashfaq Ahmed Khalil and PIO Mubashir Hassan at the announcement underscores the importance of this move. The ministry views her return as a way to strengthen PTV as a credible news source.
