History Will Not Be Misleading in Takht, Says Karan Johar

Following years worth of hiatus, Bollywood film-maker Karan Johar is finally gearing up for a number of blockbuster projects, including a multi-starrer historical drama film, Takht.

While talking about his upcoming film project, the director revealed that his film will be based on a true historical event. Takht is focused on Shah Jahan’s Mughal era and Johar says that he will treat history with dignity in the movie.

Perhaps the reason why many fans are concerned is because when periodic drama, Padmaavat came out, it irked many Hindu extremists. This resulted in Deepika Padukone, the director and producer to receive threatening letters.

However, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai director plans to include the authentic history based on the Mughal empire.

The best part is that the film will feature a star-studded cast which includes top notch actors from Bollywood. They include, Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar, Janhvi Kapoor, and Anil Kapoor.

When asked if he had trouble in selecting the cast he revealed that he did, “but eventually I am happy with the cast that I have. I think this is one film that I am directing where I took some time to reach the cast,” he said.

Karan Johar also added that he tries to keep up with the younger generation to stay relevant when creating his works, “Their thoughts and their ideology should be heard and that helps me to stay updated and relevant to the present time,” he further added.
