WWE Unreal is a five-part docuseries that is now available on Netflix and provides behind-the-scenes coverage of how WWE goes about more creative endeavors. WWE Unreal, released on July 29, 2025, takes the viewers through the backstage of WWE since the premiere of Raw on Netflix to WrestleMania 41.
Narrated by WWE’s Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque, the series includes appearances from top WWE superstars such as John Cena, CM Punk, Cody Rhodes, Rhea Ripley, Jey Uso, Bianca Belair, Charlotte Flair, Chelsea Green, and Xavier Woods. Each episode runs for approximately 50 minutes and focuses on different phases of WWE’s event planning.
The episode titles include New Era, Push, Worth the Wait, Heel Turn, and WrestleMania. WWE Unreal offers footage from writers’ room meetings, storyline pitches, production discussions, and live-event coordination, highlighting key creative decisions and alternate scenarios that didn’t make it to the ring.
WWE Unreal also documents the real-time backstage environment, including moments from the Gorilla Position, where final show calls are made. One of the episodes shows how Jey Uso was chosen over other top names like CM Punk and Cena for a major storyline at Royal Rumble 2025.
Led by Chris Weaver as the director and an Omaha Productions participation (with NFL Films, Skydance Sports, and WWE role), the docuseries is expected to bring an entire production scale of weekly programming and logistics of WWE biggest shows.
Streaming now on Netflix, WWE Unreal marks a shift in how WWE presents its product, focusing on the internal narrative process and backstage planning, aiming to connect with new audiences by demystifying its entertainment strategy.
