Actor Zahid Ahmed was heavily criticized after stating in a podcast that social media is the devil work and that creators will end up in hell. His words went viral on Instagram and X where influencers and digital content creators were very vocal in their responses.
TikTokers such as Alishbah Anjum, Kanwal Aftab, Ken Doll, and Zarnab Fatima suggested commenting on the opinions of Zahid Ahmed and labeled him as a two-sided person. They claimed that both actors and influencers make content, but just a single group is judged.
Zahid Ahmed Issues Public Apology
After facing criticism, Zahid Ahmed posted an apology video on Instagram. He said he had spoken emotionally and crossed his limits. He clarified that his comments were directed at the inventors of social media platforms, not content creators.
“I feel guilty that I declared them wrongdoers,” he said. “Only Allah has the right to call anyone sinful.” The actor added that he respects digital creators and regrets the misunderstanding.
Zahid Ahmed said that he did not want to harm anyone and realizes the burden of his words as a man in the spotlight. He mentioned that he would never make such remarks again and people should not divide on opinions, but remain together.
