Karachi Rain: Monsoon Second Spell Starting Tomorrow, NDMA Alert Issued

Overcast conditions have been recorded in Karachi since Monday morning. According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, the second spell of monsoon 2025 will affect Karachi from July 8. Light rain and drizzle have been observed in various areas, including Shahrah-e-Faisal, PECHS Society, Mohammad Ali Society, Sindhi Muslim Society, Admin Society, Mehmoodabad, Manzoor Colony, Saddar, Mazar-e-Quaid, Lyari, Clifton, and nearby localities.

The Met Office forecasts intermittent drizzle and light rain across Karachi today. Residents are advised to stay updated on the Karachi rain forecast and monsoon weather conditions.

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a flood alert across Pakistan valid until July 10, 2025. The alert covers Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan. Low-level flooding is expected near Marala and Qadirabad along the Chenab River. Rising water levels are likely in the Kabul, Sindh, Chenab, Swat, Panjkora, Chitral, Hunza, and other rivers.

Flood risk exists in eastern Punjab, southern Balochistan, and Azad Kashmir. Streams from the Pir Panjal Range in eastern Punjab may cause flooding. In Azad Kashmir, the Jhelum River and its tributaries are at risk. Water levels are expected to rise in the Hunza River and Gilgit-Baltistan streams.

South Balochistan rivers from the Kirthar Range may see flooding. Awaran, Khuzdar, Jhal Magsi, Qila Saifullah, and Musakhel are also under flood threat.
