Three people were killed and seven others injured after unknown attackers opened fire on a passenger coach near Nimargh in Qalat district, Balochistan. The bus was en route from Karachi to Quetta when the incident occurred.
According to Balochistan government spokesperson Shahid Rind, security forces, district administration, and rescue teams reached the scene immediately. The injured were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital Qalat, where an emergency was declared and medical staff were placed on high alert.
Security forces have cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to trace the suspects involved in the attack.
The spokesman said that the government will take care of the families of the dead and injured and efforts are going on to arrest the attackers.
The firing incident in Qalat has raised concerns about the law and order situation in Balochistan. Authorities have stated that both civil and military institutions are actively working to stabilise the situation and ensure public safety.
