The great Chancellor of Jamia Ashrafia Maulana Hafiz Fazl ur Raheem Ashrafi died on January 4, 2026. His passing is the end of a painful year of sickness, and a very sad beginning of the new year to millions of people who had been following him.
Maulana Ashrafi was not only a teacher, but also the Sheikh al-Hadith in one of the most prestigious seminaries of south Asia. Being the son of the founder of Jamia Ashrafia, Mufti Muhammad Hassan continued with a heritage of moderate and academic leadership in Islam.
