Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced the start of its flight operations for this year’s Hajj 2023 pilgrimage. The first flight will depart on May 21, and the last flight will take place on August 2. The airline will use its Boeing-777 and Airbus A-320 aircraft to transport pilgrims from different cities of Pakistan to Jeddah and Madinah.
According to a PIA spokesperson, the airline will continue its previous year’s policy of charging airfare in US dollars from pilgrims going to Saudi Arabia under a private Hajj scheme. The airfare for pilgrims from the southern and northern regions will range from $870 to $1180 and $910 to $1220, respectively.

The spokesperson added that the final airfare for pilgrims going to perform Hajj under the government scheme would be announced by the Ministries of Religious Affairs. Reports suggest that the fare is likely to be in the range of RS310,000 to RS330,000. The overall cost of Hajj is expected to surge to RS1.25 million this year.
The PIA spokesperson encouraged pilgrims to book their Hajj flights early to avoid any inconvenience. The airline is committed to providing a safe and comfortable journey for all pilgrims during this sacred event.
