The Royal Institute for Strategic Studies in Jordan released the 2025 list of the 500 most influential Muslims. According to the report, Mufti Taqi Usmani ranks as the second most influential figure in the Muslim world, following Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, who secured the top position.
Renowned scholar Maulana Tariq Jameel secured a spot in the top 50 influential Muslims list. The ranking also includes Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Iran’s Ayatollah Khamenei, Jordan’s King Abdullah II, Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and Burkina Faso’s President Captain Ibrahim Traoré.
Several Pakistanis appeared in the 500 influential Muslims 2025 list, including Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Imran Khan, Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman, Dr. Umar Saif, Hamid Mir, Mir Shakil-ur-Rahman, and Malala Yousafzai.
The designation of Mufti Taqi Usmani in the list of the most influential Muslims 2025 is an indication of the increasing presence of Pakistan in the Islamic scholarship. His inclusion has made Pakistan even stronger in the image of the most prominent Muslim thinkers and scholars across the world.
