Raiwand Ijtema Second Phase Kicks Off with Enhanced Security Measures

In a commendable effort, the Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue-1122) has stepped up to provide vital emergency medical coverage to participants in the ongoing second phase of the Raiwind Ijtima. District Emergency Officer (DEO) Shahid Waheed announced on Friday that a fleet of eight emergency vehicles and 17 motorbike-ambulances, each staffed with trained personnel, has strategically deployed to ensure swift and effective emergency services for the attendees.
In the last 24 hours, Rescue-1122 provided emergency assistance to around 70 participants. DEO Shahid Waheed noted that out of these cases, 60 individuals received medical aid and swiftly transferred to nearby government hospitals. Another 20 participants received immediate on-the-spot medical attention.
The second phase of the Raiwind Ijtima, which commenced on November 9, scheduled to continue until November 12. The annual congregation draws participants from diverse backgrounds, emphasizing the importance of a robust emergency response system.
Traffic plans for the concluding phase of the International Tablighi Ijtima at Raiwand, ending on November 12, are in place. SP Headquarters Sohail Fazil and SP President Malik Ikram will supervise the arrangements along with medical support during the Ijtima period.
To ensure smooth traffic flow, 13 DSPs and 203 traffic inspectors, supervised by divisional officers, strategically positioned. Additionally, a dedicated team of 110 patrol officers, 999 wardens, 10 people lifters, and five breakdown vehicles deployed to handle issues such as wrong parking.
A specialized control room and camp office have established in Raiwind for continuous monitoring and surveillance. Seven designated points have allocated for participant vehicle parking, ensuring order and efficiency. The public will kept informed through Rasta FM and the Rasta app, providing real-time updates on the situation.
Participants will follow a detailed traffic plan:
- From GT Road to Thokar Niaz Beg through Kala Shah Kaku Interchange Motorway.
- From Rawalpindi and Islamabad to Thokar Niaz Beg Motorway to Raiwind.
- From Okara to Raiwind via Manga By-Pass.
- Participants from Kasur will directed to the parking lot opposite Nisar Mills via Liliani Soy Asal Road.
Rescue-1122 and traffic arrangements at Raiwind Ijtima ensure participant safety with a well-executed emergency plan.
