The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee of Pakistan has announced that the Ramadan moon is sighted in Pakistan. Therefore, the first day of fasting will be observed on 23 March 2023.
The committee, headed by Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, met in Islamabad on Wednesday evening to sight the Ramadan moon. The sighting was confirmed by any credible witnesses from different parts of the country.
The government has also announced a number of measures to ensure safe and peaceful Ramadan. Muslims across Pakistan are preparing for the month of Ramadan, which is a time of spiritual reflection and devotion.
In Pakistan, the moon sighting is carried out by a committee of religious scholars and astronomers in each major city, including Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, and Islamabad. The committee gathers at a specific location to observe the moon and verify its sighting with the naked eye.
The sighting of the Ramadan moon is a crucial occurrence in the Islamic schedule, denoting the start of a month-long time of spiritual rebirth, fasting, and prayer. In Pakistan, Muslims can rely on the Pakistan Ramadan Calendar 2023 to remain on track with religious obligations at the proper times.
