Moon Sighting Committee of Malaysia is the department that announces the sighting of the new moon. The crescent sighting meeting will confirm the first date of Ramadan after convened moon sighting gathering. However, the expected date of Ramadan starting in Malaysia will be tomorrow April 2, 2022.
The other official department, the Malaysian Meteorological Department(MMD) will confirm moon sighting updates as the crescent will be observed in conditions using sophisticated imaging technology.
