Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Confirms Moon Sighting
The Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, led by Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, convened in Islamabad to assess moon sighting reports from across the country. After receiving credible testimonies from multiple locations, the committee confirmed the sighting of the Shawwal crescent.
Zonal and district Ruet-e-Hilal committees also held meetings in Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, and Quetta, with reports indicating clear visibility of the moon in several regions.
Government Announces Eid Holidays
Following the official moon sighting announcement, the federal and provincial governments have declared Eid holidays from 31 March to April 2, 2025. Banks and public offices will remain closed during this period.
Nationwide Eid Celebrations Begin
Muslims across Pakistan will offer Eid prayers in mosques and open grounds on Monday morning, marking the conclusion of Ramadan 2025. Religious scholars have urged the public to pray for peace, prosperity, and unity during the special occasion.
