A biryani festival will be held at the Governor House in Karachi every year.
This was announced by Governor Imran Ismail on Thursday. He was visiting the Rice Exporters Association of Pakistan (REAP) office.
The Sindh Governor added that the government will invite all the rice exporters to spice makers to make the biryani. He also added that the biryani should be rich in spices.
He said that “The farmers are the breadwinners of the country and the doors of Governor house are always open for them.”
The association’s chairperson said Pakistan is currently exporting rice worth $2 billion, but Imran Ismail vowed that this could be taken to $4 billion with government support.
REAP chairman Safdar Hussain while addressing the gathering said, “The government is focusing on the improvement of every sector.”
