JAPAN: Studio Ghibli, one of the most famous animation studios of Japan, is getting its very own themed amusement park.
The park will feature various rides based on Studio Ghibli movies made by the internationally recognized and Oscar winning animator, Hayao Miyazaki, who is also the co-founder of the studio. His best works include the Oscar Award Winning “Spirited Away” for best animation feature and “Princess Mononoke”.
Studio Ghibli has released concept plans for the park that is to be build near Nagoya in Japan’s Aichi prefecture. The park is to be completed by 2022 and features rides from Ghibli movies like “My Neighbor Totoro”, “Howl’s Moving Castle” and “Kiki’s Delivery Service”.
The park’s construction costs and estimates are not yet decided, but it is going to be built at Expo 2005 Aichi Commemorative Park in Nagakute city.
