A motorcyclist was injured in a shocking collision with a speeding dumper near Powerhouse Chowrangi in Karachi’s North Karachi area, sparking outrage that led an enraged mob to set nine trucks ablaze, including five dumpers and four water tankers. Police confirmed that the dumper driver, reportedly a teenager aged 17 or 18, attempted to flee the scene by driving over parked motorcycles, further fueling the crowd’s anger. While no fatalities were reported, the injured motorcyclist’s condition remains under investigation as authorities coordinate with hospitals across Karachi for updates.
In response, a large police contingent was deployed to the area, alongside firefighters who successfully extinguished the flames. Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori condemned the lawlessness, urging citizens to refrain from taking justice into their own hands while emphasizing the need for stricter enforcement of traffic laws.

The chaos began when a speeding dumper barreled down the Nagan Chowrangi flyover, striking two motorcyclists. The crowd’s fury escalated as they turned on nearby vehicles, torching seven dumpers and two water tankers in a fiery retaliation. No one was injured in the blaze, but the destruction left a trail of charred wreckage near Powerhouse Chowrangi.
Police reports initially cited nine torched trucks, though later updates clarified the count as seven dumpers—a discrepancy still under review. The injured motorcyclist, fortunately, survived the crash, though details about their injuries remain scarce.
