After Islamabad attack, Rawalpindi schools increase security. The government of Punjab employs 30,000 former military and police members to guard campuses. Schools will be forced to erect walls, install CCTV and metal detectors and walk through gates. Threats are prevented by visitor logs, emergency control rooms and strict inspections. This to be fully complied with all the schools, whether public or private.
Rawalpindi Schools Security Plan: Government Launches 10-Point Advisory
The government of Punjab came up with a new security advisory of 10 points to all the public and private schools in the Rawalpindi division. The relocation is based on the suicide bombing of Islamabad district courts and increasing threats in the province.
The advisory directs immediate recruitment of retired military and police personnel as security guards. Education officials must hire 30,000 retired personnel on daily wages to strengthen school security.
Schools must raise boundary walls to eight feet and add two feet of barbed wire. Modern CCTV cameras are required at gates, rooftops, grounds, and corridors. Each campus must maintain UPS backup and a control room with emergency contacts. A focal person will supervise security during school hours.

Metal detectors and walk-through gates are mandatory. Visitor registers must record names and CNIC numbers of all entrants. Schools must display rescue training and anti-terror preparedness guidelines for staff and students.
Strict monitoring will follow. Assistant district education officers will inspect two schools daily in each tehsil. District education officers and CEOs will also inspect two schools daily. Officials who fail to submit reports will face action. School heads ignoring security directives will face disciplinary measures.
Students cannot leave campus during breaks, and outsiders are barred from entering. The government emphasizes immediate compliance.
The Rawalpindi school security plan is expected to protect the students and staff as much as possible and closely monitor all educational institutions. The compliance is also obligatory, and the inspections will be done daily so that there cannot be security lapses.
