Shehroze Kashif New Record: Youngest Pakistani to Conquer All 14 ‘8,000ers’

Pakistani mountaineer Shehroze Kashif has made history by becoming the youngest Pakistani to summit all 14 peaks towering over 8,000 meters. At just 22 years old, Kashif completed this extraordinary achievement by successfully scaling Shishapangma, which stands at 8,027 meters, today.

Nicknamed the “Broad Boy” due to his first major climb on Broad Peak, Kashif reached the summit of Shishapangma early in the morning, cementing his legacy in the world of mountaineering. He is now the second Pakistani to scale all 14 of these towering peaks, following Sarbaz Khan, who achieved the same feat earlier this year after summiting Shishapangma.

Kashif’s journey began in 2019 when, at the age of 17, he climbed Broad Peak, marking the start of his ascent to fame. Over the next few years, he continued to push his limits, summiting iconic peaks such as Mount Everest, K2, Manaslu, and several others. In 2021, he added Everest and K2 to his list of achievements, and the following year, he tackled peaks like Kanchenjunga, Nanga Parbat, and Gasherbrum I & II.

Despite the tremendous accomplishments, Kashif also faced setbacks. Last year, an accident during his Shishapangma expedition halted his progress, but he persevered. Had he succeeded then, he would have become the youngest climber globally to summit all 14 eight-thousanders.

Speaking after his achievement, Kashif shared his thoughts on the journey: “It was one of the most difficult things I’ve ever done. The risk was real, but I kept pushing. Reaching this point is about more than just the summits – it’s about overcoming fear and personal limits. It feels like a miracle to be here.”

The BARD Foundation, led by Abdul Razak Dawood, played a crucial role in supporting Kashif’s expeditions. Dawood expressed immense pride in Kashif’s accomplishments, stating, “Shehroze’s dedication has brought immense pride to the entire nation. His achievement is a testament to the potential of Pakistan’s youth, and it’s an honor to see our flag flying on the world’s highest peaks.”

This remarkable achievement has not only secured Shehroze Kashif’s place in mountaineering history but also brought immense pride to Pakistan. His accomplishment highlights the perseverance, courage, and passion of the country’s youth on a global stage.
