The Caretaker Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Murtaza Solangi, recently addressed a critical issue on social media, regarding the proliferation of counterfeit five-thousand-rupee currency notes. He emphasized that the Government of Pakistan is committed to taking decisive measures against the dissemination of false information.

In a tweet on Thursday, the Information Minister discredited a purported notification from the Internal Finance Wing of the Finance Division, categorically stating that it was fraudulent in nature.
Simultaneously, the Information Ministry’s official Twitter account, “Fact Checker,” confirmed the inauthenticity of the said notification.
In an official statement posted on Twitter, the Information Ministry underscored that the spread of false news not only stands in stark violation of ethical and legal standards but also constitutes an affront to the nation’s integrity.
This proactive response from the government sends a clear message that it is committed to safeguarding its currency and maintaining transparency in financial matters. The public is urged to rely on verified sources for accurate information and refrain from sharing unverified content to uphold the nation’s honor and credibility.
