In response to the escalating heatwave, the Punjab government has declared an additional week-long break for all schools, starting from May 25th to May 31st. This decision comes in the wake of concerns raised by private schools over the extended holiday period.
Rana Sikandar, the Education Minister of Punjab, made the announcement via a social media post. He stated that the decision was influenced by the feedback from parents and the severity of the current weather conditions.
However, there’s a caveat for private educational institutions that are conducting examinations. These institutions may continue to operate, albeit conditionally, as the ministry’s utmost priority is to safeguard students from the harsh weather.
