Polio Campaign in Karachi – The meeting was attended by EOC Coordinator Arshad Sohder, all Deputy Commissioners, representatives from international health organizations, UNICEF, and BMG.
During the briefing, it was revealed that Karachi is currently polio-free. However, environmental reports indicate the presence of the poliovirus in two areas, including Gadap and Kemari.
Starting from October 2nd, the Polio Campaign in Karachi aims to administer polio drops to more than 260,000 children aged six months to five years. Additionally, children aged six months to five years will be given Vitamin A supplements for a period of six months.
During the polio eradication campaign, over 3,000 workers will be on duty to ensure its success.
