On Saturday, September 15, 2024, Faraz Faheem, a 25-year-old newlywed, suffered a shoulder injury in an accident. He was taken to A.O. Hospital in Nazimabad, Karachi, where doctors advised surgery. The operation was scheduled for Monday, September 17.
Faraz was prepped for surgery at 6 PM that evening, but after three hours, the family was shocked to learn that the surgery hadn’t taken place. His condition had worsened, with severe swelling. A.O. Hospital doctors said he needed to be moved to another hospital. In a dire state, Faraz was rushed to Ziauddin Hospital. There, it was discovered he had been given an excessive dose of anesthesia, leaving him in a coma and requiring immediate ventilation.
For four agonizing days, his family prayed for his recovery, but on Thursday, September 19, 2024, Faraz Faheem passed away.
This tragedy has left his elderly parents shattered. Faraz had walked into A.O. Hospital expecting routine surgery, but instead, he lost his life due to negligence. What makes it worse is the hospital’s cold response, “Two out of 100 cases turn out bad,” showing a complete disregard for human life.
Faraz’s family is now calling on everyone to spread the word and boycott A.O. Hospital, demanding that no more lives be lost to such carelessness.
