Renowned TV host and MNA Amir Liaquat Hussain has been charged in contempt of court case on Wednesday by Supreme court of Pakistan.
The indictment came as Supreme court bench heard a contempt of court case against Amir Liaquat. The court also rejected the unconditional apology of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MNA Amir Liaquat Hussain.
During the hearing, Dr. Amir Liaquat said “I seek an unconditional apology and leave myself at the mercy of the court.”
“I have also apologized before,” the TV host added.
However, Justice Ijaz ul Ahsan remarked, “We had set today as the date for indictment and the time for apologies has passed.”
The court then charged Amir Liaquat Hussain under article 204(3) of the Constitution. The MNA pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The SC had earlier said that Amir Liaquat Hussain had violated court orders on March 6, 2017 and that counted as contempt of court case.
