The Sindh government has launched a free air ambulance service to improve patient care in remote areas. Initially, this service will operate between Ghotki-Sukkur, Khairpur, and Karachi, with plans to expand to Hyderabad, Thar, Nawabshah, and Larkana.
During the signing ceremony of the air ambulance service agreement between the Sindh Local Council Association and ASSL, Provincial Ministers Syed Nasir Hussain Shah and Saeed Ghani emphasized the significance of this initiative. They stated that the air ambulance service aligns with the vision of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and marks a major step forward for healthcare in Sindh.
Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah highlighted the challenges faced in transporting patients from cities six hours away from Karachi. He expressed relief that this new service will help address these issues. Reflecting on past tragedies, such as the death of journalist Jan Muhammad Mehr due to delays in transfer from Sukkur to Karachi, the minister underscored the importance of timely medical assistance, which this service aims to provide.
The launch of the air ambulance service is a crucial development for the people of Sindh, ensuring that patients in remote areas receive the urgent care they need when they need it most.
