Islamabad: The Accountability Court adjourned the hearing of remaining corruption references against former PM Nawaz Sharif till August 15.
Accountability Court summoned PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif today in Al Azizia and Flagship cases. However, the court adjourned the hearing till August 15 (Wednesday). The court earlier took up pending references against Nawaz Sharif and his family.
Accountability Court II Judge Arshad Malik is hearing Flagship and Al-Azizia cases against Nawaz and his family. He summoned former PM today and ordered the prosecution to present its key witness and Panamagate Joint Investigation Team (JIT) head Wajid Zia on the next hearing.
Court earlier accepted the Nawaz’s application to transfer Flagship Investment and Al Aziziz reference from Judge Muhammad Bashir to another court. Sharif family also submitted plea against Avenfield case conviction.
However, the Avenfield Reference verdict came against Nawaz and his family. The Accountability Court sentenced the imprisonment of 10, 7, and 1 year to Nawaz, Maryam, and Captain Safdar (retd) respectively. The court also fined Nawaz and Maryam 8 million and 2 million Pounds respectively. All three leaders later moved to Adiala Jail Rawalpindi.
