The 3 day Anti-Polio Drive starts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit Baltistan, Azaad Jammu Kashmir and FATA on Monday, 9th April, while a 5 day Anti-Polio drive has also begun for Punjab. The anti-polio drive will be constituted of about 26,000 teams in K-P, while in Punjab nearly 44,000 teams will be heading out to administer Anti-Polio drops to children below age of 5.
The Anti-Polio Drive will be standing at Railway stations, Bus stands and other public places along with going door to door to ensure no children is left out without being vaccinated. The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Department stated that the drive will give more than 6.7 Million children Anti-Polio drops while in Punjab 18.5 Million children below the age of 5 will be given the drops by the teams.
In Azad Kashmir, over two thousand mobile teams have been deployed for purpose of going door to door and administer Anti-Polio drops while more than four hundred fixed centers have been set for the campaign. In Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) more than 238,000 children of five years will be administered anti-polio vaccine. For this purpose, 1,400 teams have been formed to administer anti-polio drops to the children.
