Anti Terrorism Court Indicts Three Big Names in Dr. Imran Farooq Case


Islamabad: ATC indicts three accused arrested for the murder of MQM Leader Dr. Imran Farooq.

Shahrukh Arjumand ATC Judge, Khawaja Imtiaz FIA Prosecutor presented the charge sheet against the three accused. However, accused were Khalid Shamim, Moazzam Ali, and Syed Mohsin Ali. In addition, the charge sheet also elaborated that the murder was planned in both UK and Pakistan.

The court likewise summoned witnesses, FIA Counter-Terrorism Wing’s Abdul Mannan and Additional Deputy Commissioner Captain (retd) Shoaib Ali at the following hearing on May 8 to record their perspective. All three accused are currently in Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail, where the hearing happens. In an earlier recorded statement, Shamim and Mohsin Ali told the court that Farooq was murdered as he was a potential danger to Altaf Hussain.

Shamim revealed that Dr. Imran Farooq received death threats after the suspension of his party membership. He further added that he murdered Dr. Imran on 16 September 2010 as a birthday present to Altaf Hussain.

However, the case was registered against Altaf Hussain and other MQM leaders in 2015 by the FIA. Dr. Imran Farooq was killed outside his London’s home and the post-mortem revealed that he was badly wounded to death. However, the London Police also recovered a brick and a kitchen knife from the place of incident.
