Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has unveiled new details about the Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar Scheme, aimed at helping residents secure homes without interest payments. This flagship initiative will be rolled out in three stages, offering significant support to both rural and urban dwellers.
Under the Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar Scheme, residents in rural areas can receive loans up to Rs1.5 million for houses up to 10 marlas, with a monthly payment of Rs14,000. Similarly, urban areas will see loans up to Rs1.5 million for homes up to 5 marlas, also with a Rs14,000 monthly payment. For major cities, the scheme will offer four-story flats, though the exact details of loan amounts remain unspecified. Allocation of these flats will be done through a lottery system on government land.
Additionally, private housing schemes will provide homes ranging from 3 to 5 marlas, with government subsidies of up to PKR 1 million per house.

He commended her commitment to expanding affordable housing initiatives. The Chief Minister acknowledged Akhuwat’s contributions and revealed that this low-cost housing initiative is already underway. She emphasized that the program will grow each year, aimed at helping more low-income individuals achieve their dream of homeownership.
