Arbaeen 2025 travel for Pakistani pilgrims will be restricted to air routes only. Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi announced that pilgrims will not be allowed to enter Iran and Iraq through land routes via Balochistan this year. The decision was shared on social media and is effective for the upcoming Arbaeen pilgrimage.
The federal government made this decision after consultations with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Balochistan government, and security agencies. The Interior Minister stated that the restriction is due to concerns for public safety and national security. As a result, pilgrims will be required to use air travel for their journey to Karbala for Arbaeen 2025.
Mohsin Naqvi clarified that, pilgrims on the flights will get every necessary facility. In order to facilitate this move, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has ordered the concerned authorities to organize special flights. These scheduled or chartered flights will assist in making sure that pilgrims have all the time to complete their religious journey without any interference.
The government has also called on people to cooperate and they made sure that they are doing their level best to serve the pilgrims and to respect their religious sentiments. Officials kept stressing that the safety of travellers is the first priority.
Many Pakistani pilgrims go by land to Iran and Iraq to participate in Arbaeen every year. Nevertheless, the issue of the Arbaeen 2025 on the route across the ground has been postponed because of security issues and administrative complications that have been emerging recently. This year, all Pakistani pilgrims heading towards Iraq and Iran will only travel by air.
