Asia Bibi Case: TLP protests in various cities across Pakistan

Karachi: Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan or TLP protests in various cities are started after the Asia Bibi case decision by Supreme Court.

TLP protests in various cities began after Asia Bibi case decision revealed. However, CJP Saqib Nisar led bench of Supreme Court of Pakistan acquitted her in blasphemy case.

The security is alert as TLP protests in various cities including Karachi, Islamabad, and Lahore began.

Karachi

Karachi traffic police revealed about the roads blocked in the city:

Tower road is closed but diversions from Jinnah Bridge towards MT Khan Road, MA Jinnah Road towards Baba-e-Urdu Chowk, and II Chundrigar Road towards University Centre are available.

Both tracks of Lyari Expressway from Karachi to Hyderabad were closed for traffic. It was being diverted to Al-Asif Square towards Abul-Hassan Asfahani road.

Roads were also closed for traffic at Star Gate. Both tracks of the road on Numaish Chowk were also closed for traffic

Islamabad

In Islamabad, ptrotesteors also closed some roads for traffic. Faizabad, Aabpara, and Kashmir Highway adjacent to Aabpara have been blocked by protesters.

Peshawar

In Peshwar, protests were in process at the Ring Road, Jamil Chowk, and outside the Peshawar Press Club.

Lahore

The Lahore-Islamabad Motorway was blocked at Sheikhupura. The GT Road has also been blocked. In Lahore, a protest led by TLP chief Khadim Hussain Rizvi was being staged at Chairing Cross.

Protests were also held in Gujranwala, Layyah, Chishtian, Mansehra, Mirpur in Azad Kashmir, and other parts of country.
