Asif Ali Zardari will not appear before Supreme Court, Farhatullah Babar


Asif Ali Zardari decided not to appear before the Supreme Court.

Senior PPP leader Farhatullah leader revealed that party’s chairman Asif Ali Zardari will not appear before the Supreme Court today. He said that no notice has been given to PPP chairman asking him to appear before the court in person. Farhatullah Babar further added that lawyers are currently analyzing the matter.

Senator Farooq H Naek, Zardari’s legal advisor, will represent him in the court. The Counsel also said that Zardari’s appearance will depend on the todays’ proceedings nature.


The FIA registered a case in Karachi week ago over money laundering scam worth Rs35 billion, said to involve lawmakers, representatives, and financiers. FIA detained Stock Exchange of Pakistan executive Hussain Lawai, said to be a close friend of Asif Ali Zardari two days earlier.

Investigative authorities keep up that 32 individuals, including Lawai, are under interrogation for laundering billions of rupees through imaginary ledgers.

FIA probe began when FMU(financial monitoring unit) of the State Bank of Pakistan produced a ‘suspicious transaction report’ in January this year.

According to FIA sources are said to be black money gathered from various kickbacks, commissions, and bribes. But despite these huge transactions, the bank authorities never reported them to the authorities concerned including FIA.

The investigators at FIA maintains that sum of amount is black cash accumulated from different kickbacks, commissions, and influences. Yet, regardless of such huge amount of sum transacted through, bank’s administration never made authorities concerning notified including the Federal investigating agency of any suspicion thereon.
