ASP Shehrbano Naqvi has just captured news headlines due to a dramatic mid interview walkout during an interview podcast. She walked out of the set as she was informed of a murder that had occurred. Some fans applaud the effort she puts forth, but social media critics term the moment a planned PR gimmick.
Police ASP Shehrbano Naqvi of Punjab Police is trending once again in Pakistan. In one of the latest podcasts she recorded, she was called with a high-profile murder. She hastened to narrate to the host, took off the mic, and moved away. The video released on December 21, 2025, and immediately caused a strong discussion on the Internet.
Many social media users find the timing too perfect. Critics on TikTok and X claim the scene looks like a staged movie moment. They argue that an officer of her rank usually coordinates through a control room rather than receiving direct “emergency” calls mid-interview. Parody videos mocking the “cinematic” exit have already started appearing online.
This controversy follows a period of intense public activity for Naqvi. At the beginning of 2025, she was confronted by internal questioning by the Punjab Police in relation to her regular appearances in the media. Senior officials reportedly warned against “social media policing” that might bypass official protocols.
Despite the noise, Naqvi continues to reach new professional heights. She represented Pakistan at the Asia 21 Next Generation Summit in the Philippines from December 5 to 7, 2025. She is the first female Pakistani police officer to join this fellowship.
Naqvi still is a divisive personality in law enforcement. Her followers point to her courage in the Ichhra Bazaar case and her activities in Tahafuz Markaz. On the downside, her detractors are always concerned with her overly media-heavy style. Regardless of whether this recent podcast event was a real emergency or a PR strategy, it has continued to have Shehrbano Naqvi on the national agenda.
